About

Hello! I'm Juliet, I'm 35 years old, and I live in Edinburgh, Scotland. I work at a Scottish Festival (this one!), and I probably spend too much time posting pictures of myself on the internet. I really like adventures, baking, books (who doesn't?), beer gardens on beautiful sunny days, growing things in my tiny balcony garden, nail art, being a bit crafty, photobooths, liquid eyeliner, and doing absolutely nothing on Sundays.

Ever So Juliet is a lifestyle blog where I chat about the things I do, the things I like, and the things I'd like to do. It started back in March 2011 (with this awkward first post), and has grown into a lovely wee corner of the internet. I'm always surprised by how many people visit, but hello, and thanks for reading!

FAQ:

Q What kind of camera do you use?
A I use a Nikon D5100 and my iphone. I shamefully still don't really know how to use all the settings on my camera, despite owning it for years.

Q What does your blog name mean?
A A few years ago I ran a cupcake company (Edinburgh's first one!) called Ever So Sweet, which was named after an Early November song. I had already started using Ever So Juliet on social media (when eversosweet was taken!) so it was an easy choice when I started this blog.

Q I'm coming to Edinburgh! What should I do?
A Good choice, Edinburgh is beautiful! Take a look at my tagged posts, and feel free to get in touch if you want any more pointers.

Q What is your job?
A I'm Head of Development at Edinburgh International Film Festival and our two cinemas, Filmhouse in Edinburgh and the Belmont Filmhouse in Aberdeen. It's my job to raise money for our charity through sponsorship and fundraising, and I really love it! Before this I cut my teeth at the Edinburgh International Science Festival and The List magazine. If you ever want a chat about getting into sales or sponsorship, I am happy to help.

Q How do I start a blog?
A It's easy! Just set up an account on blogger or wordpress (I use blogger) and start writing! There's loads of advice out there on how to blog (including my tips here), but just pick a topic you're interested in, write honestly, and use spell check!
